Our Counsellors
Who you will be speaking to, and what their qualifications actually mean.
In counselling, credentials are not a formality — they are the product. Below is every person you might speak to, what they are qualified in, and what they actually work on.
What the qualifications mean
Terminology in this field is confusing and often used loosely, so here is what the common ones actually mean in India:
- Clinical Psychologist — holds an M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from an RCI-recognised institution and is registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India. This is the only qualification that permits clinical practice and diagnosis. Ask for the RCI registration number; anyone legitimate will give it.
- Counselling Psychologist — typically an MA or MSc in Psychology with supervised counselling training. Works with everyday difficulties, not clinical conditions.
- Career Counsellor — a professional qualification in career guidance and psychometric assessment. Not a clinical role.
- Psychiatrist — a medical doctor (MD Psychiatry) who can prescribe medication. Different from a psychologist.
If you are looking for therapy for a clinical condition, you want an RCI-registered clinical psychologist or a psychiatrist. If you are looking for direction, structure or a difficult decision worked through, a counsellor is the right person.
Our team
Add each counsellor here — name, qualification, registration number where applicable, years of practice, languages spoken, and what they specialise in. Photographs help considerably. You can also manage a short version of this list in Appearance → Customize → Aplomb → Counsellors, which feeds the homepage.
How sessions work
- Sessions are 60 minutes, over video call, at a time you choose.
- You will have completed an assessment beforehand, so the session starts from your actual situation rather than from introductions.
- You receive a written summary afterwards with what was agreed.
- Everything discussed is confidential, within the limits described in our privacy policy.
